  • No experience is required for our program and we accept students from different backgrounds. This program is designed to give students a hands-on veterinary experience, whether it be to build up a resume, to decide if veterinary medicine is right for you, or just to experience the wildlife of Africa while helping animals.

  • All activities and safari’s will be handled by professional and experienced staff.

  • No, you will need to collect your luggage as soon as you arrive in Johannesburg/Cape Town and redirect it to East London where you will be collected.

  • Yes, an official Phezulu staff member will be wearing clearly marked clothing and drive in marked vehicles.

  • Dec-March the weather is hot (bring bathing suit, sunscreen, hat)

    April through November can be chilly with very cold evenings (a weather resistant jacket as well as gloves, scarf and a warm beany is recommended)

  • Old clothes to wear when working with animals.
