At Phezulu Pre-Vet, we believe that the best way to learn is by doing. Based on a commercial livestock farm in the heart of Cathcart, South Africa, our program gives you direct access to large animals such as horses, sheep, and cattle, alongside small animals, rich wildlife habitats, and nearby game farms.

What makes us unique is the balance we offer: hands-on farm work, exposure to wildlife, and the chance to learn from experienced veterinarians and animal professionals across multiple disciplines. Through interactive talks, fieldwork, and practical sessions, you won’t just observe—you’ll actively take part in real veterinary and farm practices.

A Program Designed for Aspiring Animal Professionals

Every day brings something new. You might find yourself pregnancy scanning sheep, assisting with lambing or calving, administering injections and drenching, or shadowing a veterinarian during surgery. You’ll also gain experience in farm management, feeding routines, breeding practices, and animal anatomy—ensuring you leave with a truly well-rounded foundation.
